Wedding Shower

Ryan (Scott's cousin) is getting married August 6, and we had a bridal shower for his finace, Emmy. It was a great time to hang out with family and get to know her a little more.

Camping

Last weekend Scott and I went camping in Long Lake with some friends. We had a lot of fun, but got rained on a lot. Our tent leaked all over, our air matress deflated on us and we got little if any sleep.

Catching Up

I have posted 7 new posts in the last two days... grab some coffee or drink of choice and enjoy!

We are Bringing Down the House

Err....I mean the room... Late one night Scott found the carpeting in the room in our basement wet. Since we couldn't see the foundation he started to tear down the wall. We had planned to take the room out of the basement in the near future, but not in the first month of living there. Here are some before and after pictures...

Room that used to have a hot tub in it, Cedar siding with insulation behind it
The start to our work, notice the white ceiling...torn down in a matter of minutes

On the yellow wall you can see where the water is seeping into the basement through the foundation... Should be an easy fix

Opening to another part of the basement

Once we got started we had no way of getting the long cedar boards upstairs. We invited the Destructionator over aka Dad. He brought his saw and just started tearing things apart with the fury and energy of 10,000 suns.

Sawing things into a more manageable size

We now have an open basement

We Have a New...

Everything.... That is, roof, water softener, car, and pressure tank for our well.

God has blessed with a house, but has also tested us to keep trusting Him in everything that we do. Within the first week of being in the house our water softener started leaking, praise God it was covered by our home waranty policy we got with the house.

After we arrived home from a relaxing Fourth weekend, our pressure tank decided to fail, unfortunately it was not covered by the home warranty.

We knew the roof needed fixing, but our insurance company made sure we did it within the first month we were in the house or they wouldn't cover us.

Scott's car started to go into fail safe mode i.e. 2nd gear on the highway, and started to not cooperate with us. This was before we closed on the house, so we had to limp the car through the house closing and went shopping for a new one the first weekend we moved in. We ended up buying a 2007 Toyota Corrolla. We LOVE it! It has great gas milage and is very sporty looking.

Thank you God for providing for us and keeping us trusting in you.
