Check Engine Light...
Praise the Lord it went off and there is no serious problem! It is just too darn cold outside!

When it hits the fan, it really hits the fan...
This past weekend took forever, and it was not the good kind of forever.
As I was getting ready for work I got a call from Death (ok it was really mom sounding like death) saying that her and Laura had the flu. She asked me to drop off white soda and gatorade, on the stoop, ring the doorbell and leave. After work was done we started the weekend on a high note having dinner with Kyle, Krystin, Cole, Naomi, and Emily at Naomi's house. It was delicious and lots of fun!
The festivities ended and we arrived to our wonderful apartment to be in bed at 10pm, yes we are getting old, only to be woken up by Scott's work calling him telling him a freezer alarm is going off and that he needs to come in and move everything from the -80 degree freezer to a different one because it is crashing. Scott was NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT IT, mind you it was 11:30pm. As he started his trek to Milwaukee, I get a call from him 10 minutes later thinking he needed someone to keep him awake, only to find out he blew a tire and I need to pick him up at Costco. So I role out of bed leaving my dreams and warm bed behind and go to pick up my husband and proceed to travel all the way down to Milwaukee with him. He switched everything over to the -20 degree freezer and we proceeded home to our bed by 3am.
With the care now needing a tire we have to get up at 8:30 to get to Costco before all the other crazy people do so we can stand in line for an hour just to get our car on the list to get done that day. While waiting for a call from the tire center at Costco we got some Christmas shopping done, spent some time at home, ate out at Qdoba, and visited Pear & Simple in Port (very cute store). Now that it was approaching 3pm without a call from Costco, we decided to stop there and see what is going on with the car, only to find out that they were not able to fix it and we have to buy two new tires. Luckily they warentied some of the blown tire so we didn't have to pay full price for both of them. With that news we headed home tired and defeated from the day.
7:15 comes along and so does the tinkling little noise from Scott's pager. Scott made the necessary calls only to find out that he has to go back down to work to run a STAT test for a patient. This is how the night went...Scott went to work, I stayed home lonely wrapping the presents we just bought and crying to It's A Wonderful Life. He arrived back home around 11pm. Now super tired and defeated we decide to skip church and get some much needed sleep the next morning.
We have a wonderful Sunday morning being lazy, staying in bed, wearing comfy sweats, drinking a pot of coffee, all the while waiting for the Packer game to start. I interest Scott in playing some Harry Potter Wii before the game to get some "bonding" time in. I go to set up the Wii to find out it is not working! WONDERFUL! WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG THIS WEEKEND?!?!?!?
Bumbed about that we didn't know what else to do besides sit there and stare at each other, hoping for the week to start, so we have something else to look forward to. Little did we know the weekend had more in store for us...
Upon the ending of the horrendous Packer game the power flickered a few times then decided to shut off for good. Scott was studying for his upcoming test and I was trying to keep my mind busy while the little light we had was starting to get lost as the sun went down. Off to the in-laws house so we could be warm. While we were waiting we saw White Christmas, which Scott suggested we see Saturday night together before he got called to work. Around 8:30 we decided to go home to see if the power was on, if it was not we were going to stay at the in-laws house for the night. Thank God it was on and we could sleep in our own bed for the night.
All in all we ended the weekend in each others arms watching White Christmas to wake up to freezing cold temperatures outside and the check engine light on in the Elantra.

50 free Christmas Cards
As like Krystin I also love receiving Christmas cards especially picture Christmas cards. Shutterfly is giving bloggers 50 free Christmas Cards for posting about their cards on your blog. I have been seeing a lot of this post on other people’s blog and of course wanted to get in on the excitement and get the word out!
I love them all!
This is going to be my first experience with Shutterfly and I am looking forward to the many more opportunities in the future to be working with them. The day the cards come in the mail will be met with fun and excitement to show the family what Scott and I have been up to in the past year. I love the ones with many places to put pictures. Graduate School
Scott has started Graduate School through Marquette at Bloodcenter of Wisconsin for his certificate in Specialist of Blood Banking. This certificate is the start of accumilating credits for his Masters in Bloodbanking. He has been really committed lately to studying and keeping up with homework.
Since a lot of this is science and committing everything to memory I have been helping him study, quizzing him, for his tests, I have been expanding my vocabulary and knowledge in the blood world. Words are so big and massive that I cannot even start to tell you what they are like. And he deals with this everyday.
Did you know that just on the outer layer of your Red Blood Cell their are different protiens that could get screwed up in so many different ways that lead to diseases such as anemia, and they can combat diseases such as malaria? This is just your red blood cell. Now think of that microscopic organism and multiply it by 1000 and you will be able to see the first layer of your Red Blood Cell.
Once you have comprehended that just think of your whole body and what it takes to make it tick and run just so you can live. WOW! God is an amazing creator and He never ceases to amaze me! What a wonderful body He has given each and everyone of us!
By the way I almost forgot to tell you that he recieved a 96% on his last test, only getting one wrong! Way to go Love! I am so proud of you!

October has gone and here is November!
During the month of October Scott and I were very busy.
Along with everyday work we started a Bible study with two other couples. We are going through the book Love and Respect by Eggerichs Emmerson. Very good book and brings into perspective the difference between men and women and how we can understand each other in a better way.
The first weekend I went away to Turkey Run State Park with Noelle and Stephanie for our annual get together. We went camping, hiking and spent 2 hours in a corn maze. We had a lot of fun hiking and logging the miles on our long journeys. Scott stayed home to work his last on schedule weekend for the ambulence. He is going to be taking a little hiatus from it until things settle down with school and work.
Scott is trying to keep a balance between work and school. He is getting up and going into work early to get some school work done or staying late to either work or study for school. He is doing a great job at studying at home and fitting time in for work and of course me.
The second weekend we got a bunch of friends together to go to the Trienen Family Farm in Lodi, WI. It is Wisconsins largest corn maze! We split up into two teams, girls and boys. The object of the maze is to find each map piece (8) and a hole puncher in each faze of the map. Whoever got out first with their whole team won. It was HOT and the girls ruled!
The third weekend I think we had nothing going on so we stayed home so Scott could study for his first test. He did well and is starting to get ready to take his second test.
The Fourth weekend I went bridesmaid dress shopping with my friend for her wedding next August. Scott and his Dad rolled our TV, which quit on us two weeks prior, out of our apartment and took it away. Because it was so big they had to roll it like a snowball in order for it to be moved. I wish I could have been there to see it.
This last weekend we had a wedding Saturday, congratulations to Jeremy and Melissa Phillips. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding on Ottawa Lake in Kettle Moraine Forrest. Sunday Scott and the boys watched the Packer game while the ladies got ready to throw a baby shower for Krystin to welcome little Cole. It went very well! I want to thank Naomi, Carol, and Emily for all their help, I couldn't do it without them! Thank you!
