Our Godson

Kevin and Maria asked us to be the Godparents to their little bundle of joy. We are overjoyed and proud to have a Godson. Benjamin Reuel (Rule) born Monday February 27th, at 3:47pm 7lbs. 2oz. 20in.
We are ecstatic and so happy for Kevin and Maria. Thank you for letting us be part of your son's life!

Weekend Updates

This weekend Scott and I finally had the ambition to finish painting the last room (ok maybe not the last room) in the house... the dreaded kitchen. We first had to remove the wall paper, which took forever. Saturday was spent removing the last bit of wallpaper and prepping for painting.

Here are the finished pictures after a lot of sweat and elbow grease. You can still see the green border painted on the cabinets... Not such a fan, but it will do until we can re-do the kitchen in a few years...

Our first Craiglist purchase. A beautiful fireplace screen! It is absolutely amazing! In other house news... we have ordered ALL the hardwood for ALL of our floors. We will be very busy these next coming months taking out the first layer of sub flooring and putting in the hardwood that should be here middle of March.

Weekend Projects

Before the destruction happened
We have had a break in our busy schedule the past two weekends to get little things done around the house. As Kyle and Krystin are doing weekend projects to make their house beautiful and presentable, Scott and I are destroying things around our house for the same goal. As you walk in the front door there was a half wall that had a bookshelf in it. Very 70's look about it. Well it is no longer there. Scott took some of his tools and took it out. It makes the area look so much more open and inviting!
After the wall was taken out
Remember this half wall that was taken out a while ago? Well we now have the electrical taken out of the wall. This is what it looked like before, very ugly with the wire hanging over our chair. Dad came over and disconnected the electricity and we no longer have this hideous contraption to look at. Scott also got to use his sawzall to cut through the conduit. He was very excited to make this happen!

Just a little patching to do

Rory and Mason

Mason the ball slut
Mason is a 3 year old golden retriever that we have watched many times. He is Scott's co-workers dog. They were away for the weekend so we had a play date with him and Rory. Now Mason LOVES balls. I don't even know if love is a strong enough word as to the type of want and pining he does for them. We were in the basement looking at a few things and the football on the shelf caught his eye. So there he sat pining, wanting, patiently waiting for it to move so he could have a chance to get it.

Rory getting the best of Mason
Rory and Mason had a lot of fun playing together. Once Rory settled down and Mason quit being an old grumpy man they played tug of war, of course ball, and enjoyed running outside together!
Rory is a star student! She passed her puppy exam and recieved this medal in recognition! We are so very proud of her! We now have her in advanced obedience classes so we will continue to work with her and build on our current training.

Scott's Birthday Gift!

BEST GIFT EVER!
Since I have the BEST husband EVER, I needed to get him a gift that he deserves! I got him a power tool set that includes a sawzall, drill,  sander, circular saw and a flashlight. They are all cordless and he has already used them for some weekend projects we have been doing. It is going to be hard to beat this gift, words from his own mouth "BEST GIFT EVER!!!"

I had it shipped to our house and because he got home first he saw what the box said and assumed it was just a drill, but I had him fooled.

With all the house projects coming I figured he was going to need a complete tool set and get him started with an ever growing need for power tools!

Happy Birthday Love!

Christmas Family Time

Noelle and Eric showing their awesome staches
Christmas has come and gone, lots of family, gifts and fun were had by all. After three weekends full of fun and laughter, Scott and I were ready to be done with the busy holiday season.

I caught the nasty cold that was going around the friday before Christmas and spent Christmas Eve on the couch resting while Scott had to work.

Christmas day we were at Scott's parents house with his mom's side of the family. I don't have any pictures of the family. Monday Scott was at his dad's side of the family while I worked. He had a lot of fun playing a psychological game that he will not tell me about.

The following weekend we spent time with my mom's side of the family. It was fun as usual, trying to figure out which white elephant we didn't want to end up with.

That same day we spent time at my parents house with the siblings watching our annual movie. Mom and dad put in a pellet stove, so of course we had to test it out, and it works awesome! Once again I was recovering from sickness so I don't have any pictures.

It also happened to be New Years Eve so after the kids went to bed we all stayed up playing Spanking Yoda on way too little sleep, which made everything a lot more funnier than it really should have been. As soon as it hit midnight we were all done for and ready for bed.

The one Christmas I did get pictures of was the Dieringer family. This year we spent the night at a hotel down by the airport. It was filled with family fun and catching up with everyone from this past year. The kids were so cute as usual and I couldn't get enough of them!

MY KITCHENAID MIXER!!!!

AHHHHH!!!!
Thank you to my wonderful husband who won his fantasy football league and used his money to buy me my kitchenaid mixer for Christmas and birthday!!!!! I  AM SO EXCITED!!! and it is amazing! I whipped up a batch of cookies in less than two minutes, waffles were mixed and ready to be made in two seconds. I am going to venture into the bread making world soon.
I cannot tell you how excited I am

We ordered it off of costco's website so we got an awesome deal and it is the industrial 5.5 quart mixer. This means to bowl goes up and down instead of the neck going back and forth. I am absolutely in love with it and cannot get enough of this mixer!!! I have been waiting for this for the last three years and Scott was so gracious to buy it for me with his winnings! I have the BEST husband EVER!!
